+ Matthew Wood

Matthew is Chief Investment Officer and portfolio manager of all Lancaster’s European funds. He founded Lancaster with James Roycroft in 2007. Prior to this, Matthew was co-Head of Europe and a Senior Portfolio Manager at Magnetar Capital. He has been investing in European equity portfolios since 1997. Matthew began his investment career at UBS Philips and Drew, and has also previously worked at Deephaven Capital and Lansdowne Partners. He graduated from Cambridge University with a double First in History and is a CFA Charterholder.

+ James Roycroft

James founded Lancaster with Matthew Wood in 2007 and is an investment analyst for Lancaster’s European funds. Prior to this, James was a Portfolio Manager at Elliott Associates in London. James began his career in 2000 as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company in their London Office. His first investment role was as an analyst at Orn Capital from 2002 to 2004. He graduated with an MA (Hons) and MStud (Distinction) in Modern History from Oxford University.

+ Richard Lamplough

Richard Lamplough joined Lancaster in 2011. He initially spent 10 years as Head of Marketing and Investor Relations before becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2021. Prior to joining Lancaster he was a Director responsible for marketing at Palmer Capital LLP from 2008 to 2010. Richard began his career in 2002 at UBS Investment Bank, where he was a Director in the Prime Brokerage division working within the Capital Introductions team covering European and US institutions. Richard graduated from the University of Nottingham with an MEng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management.
